Beware of falsely effusive friends-and-family reviews on the US site. This book was boring, slow and without any passion. DNF.

I got this because the sample seemed pretty well written and the amazon US reviews gave the book all 5* ratings, BUT, I ended up returning it for a refund, as beyond the free sample, it was deadly dull, slow, boring, with flat dialogue, nothing even vaguely interesting happening, and without any hint of passion between the guys, and seemingly, not much friendship or anything else in common.
The blurb could perhaps be considered guilty of false advertising, as the author didn't deliver what he hinted at/promised, and I ended up returning this for a refund before I even got 1/3 way through the book.

Interesting premise...

"Legally Wed" takes the old romance theme of accidental marriage and puts a gay spin on it. The main characters are best friends who, for once in a story, actually seem like real best friends...and that's why this story works. Unlike a typical romcom play with recycled gaffe or crazy storylines, after the initial getting drunk and married, the characters actually settle into a grown up relationship that is based on mutual respect and caring. It's a nice change from the totally outlandish. If you are looking for a fun, light read, this is not it. If you're looking for a warm story sans emotional extremes, this is very HEA. Be aware that it is a very short, fast read...but it hits its mark, so that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Incredibly boring.........

The premise for this story, whilst having been done before, had so much potential, and in the hands of a good writer it might have succeeded. As it stands this was one of the most boring books I have read in a long time. The characters were unappealing, there was nothing about either of them that warranted the readers investment in their story. The sexual tension was non existent, the sex when it happened was so incredibly boring they needn't have bothered at all. The storyline became bogged down in the duos insecurities, it was impossible to believe that these were two professional men in their thirties. The dialogue was just as painful as the rest of the story. The author should read the Temptation series by Ella Frank because that is an example of writing at its best. This story on the other hand was over priced rubbish. If I could award half a star I would, as it stands I reluctantly give it 1
