Poseidon-T is an endearing book. It has sports, giant robots, and monster aliens from outer space. But at it's heart this is a teen-age bromance fantasy through and through. The artwork is crisp and clean and ver cinematic. You can almost see this being made into a feature film. It's a fun read.

The artwork is great! The colors really set the mood of the of the scenes. (where it goes form a beautiful sunny day, then get washed out by red, and later sickly-green when danger happens). the heroes Gonzalo & Poseidon where really cute together. even though the story was very tame I surprisingly found the romantic scans erotic. The story really built and built... and with that I have to say the ending threw me for a loop...

This book has become an indispensible resource for me. One of the huge challenges of being an ESL teacher is to figure out how to explain more or less logically what native speakers know intuitively. I am often stymied by grammar exercises in workbooks that are not properly explained, have too few examples, or the vocabulary in the examples is too difficult. Dixson avoids all these problems. This book is also great when you feel a quick review of a basic point is needed, or just for a quick quiz. What ESL student doesn't need to periodically review irregular verbs? As a high school student I had no problem speaking correctly, but could not explain the rules of English. I found 'Dixon's Graded English' helpful. Years later, when teaching EFL (English as a Foreign Language) in Chile, SA, the book became a godsend to help students and Spanish speaking coworkers, as well as a ready reference for me. Excellent Book

There couldn't be a better book than this on Parallel programming and unix system call understanding.

Not only the theory is comprehensive but the practicals are also ready to use and can be put into use within a week of reading it!

A must buy for any one interested in Paralle Processing on UNIX system.

Nice introduction to parallel programming

This book is a good start for parallel programming. It combines the computer science topics (i.e programming languages terms) with computer architecture terms (i.e. system level details) in a very smotth way. One should know C or Fortran77 in order to understand this topic. These are the only prerequisites to understand the material in this book. You donot need to know anything about parallel programming. However, if you know something about computer architecture, you will read and understand faster. A good to have book!

Simply Stunning Personality

I always wanted to read biographies of people who shaped history - and without a doubt Martin Luther King was on my list. Though I bought this book few years ago, I finally got to read it.
I was nice to know how he put lot of emphasis in studies and writings from famous thinkers (mainly Thoreau) of his time. Gandhi's non-cooperation movement in India also influenced his idea-logy.
"We must keep God in the forefront. Let us be Christian in all our actions." he addresses the crowd gathered to protest racial segregation on the public transit system of Montgomery, Alabama during Dec 1, 1955. In one of his speeches he says "If we are wrong, justice is a lie. And we are determined here in Montgomery to work and fight until justice runs down like water and righteousness like a mighty stream.". His personality to speak the right word without ever sowing a seed of hate among his followers to me simply is divine. And pursuing his mission with civil-disobedience without almost any violence and bloodshed speaks tons of his wisdom. This wisdom all along his struggle is well written in the book. It was a great read to understand how he shaped his impeccable personality sticking to ideas and not losing his wisdom and integrity till the end, he died when he was only 39 towering strength of will and character for that young age.

A Biography of Martin Luther King Jr.

I had always been interested in Martin Luther King Jr. I first became interested in Reverend King after hearing his famous speech "I have a dream". I enjoyed this book because I got to learn about how he came to become a great civil right leader, pastor and orator. When Martin was a young man attending mostly white school and colleges, he didn't want people to perceive of him as the stereotypical African American. He studied everything he could get his hands on and even pressed his own clothes daily. I enjoyed reading the chapter on his courting of Coretta Scott. Beginning with the Rosa Parks bus incident, and through Dr King's studies of Jesus and Gandhi, he was able to change the history of civil rights through mass civil disobedience and non-violence. It saddens me that Dr. King's life was cut short, but I am glad that he will always be remembered and discussed.

Didn't do it for me

I had been a many-year user of Money and picked up Quicken 2011 when Microsoft stopped supporting their software. I had hoped that this book would be a good starting point for me to understand the differences between the two. What I gleaned from the author was that the things I used to track in Money - payroll deductions, credit card debits/credits, 401K balances by individual mutual fund - aren't really necessary and could be inferred as a waste of time. He argued that for tax-related items, one has to use the statement provided by the company in question at tax time, not the entries you made in your personal accounting package, so why bother? Just enter the net amount of your paycheck into the register. Likewise for credit cards - why bother tracking the individual purchases when you get a monthly statement from the credit card company? Just make a payment and have it hit 'credit card expense'! The book offered very little help with how to set-up and balance a 401K which was one of my hot buttons. And to top it off, the last chapter is about how to save for retirement - it has nothing at all to do with Quicken! The only thing I got from reading the book was that I had set up my accounts correctly - a confirmation that I had done something right. I'll continue to look for a book that might address my needs - this one was not it.

I WAS HAVING TROUBLE USING THIS VERSION OF qUICKEN AFTER USING PRVIOUS VERSIONS. THE BOOK HAS BEEN VERY HELPFUL IN MY UPGRADE AND NAVIGATING THIS SOFTWARE.
